The following FAQ are about the Social Media & Body Image online workshop
We have developed a practical and reflective self directed online workshop to help you, your loved one or your clients to improve their body image and reduce the impact of social media.
The training provides a thorough understanding of the platforms, how algorithms are linked to body dissatisfaction and how to change this, ways to improve social media literacy, how to identify and reduce common culprits for content that is triggering of body image dissatisfaction, and ways to engage in helpful ways on social media.
The training has a bonus workbook that is also available separately.
COMING SOON.
The workbook that is part of the Social Media & Body Image online workshop is free when you complete the workshop. However, you can also purchase the workbook separately. The workbook is designed to complement the content in the workshop so we do recommend that if you would like to use the workbook, it makes sense to also complete the workshop (for greater context and expansion of the content covered). The workbook includes a summary of all of the terms and strategies discussed in the workshop and offers opportunities for self-reflection throughout.
The workshop will be available for 6 weeks from the date of purchase so you must complete the modules in that timeframe. The workshop videos take roughly 3.5 hours to watch and are broken up into small and manageable modules.
Access to the workshop can be accessed after the 4 week period with additional costs.
No. Please don't!
Creating workshops and workbooks such as what we have developed is extremely time consuming and when you purchase the workbook or workshop it is FOR YOU ONLY.
This content is unique and we appreciate it is sought after. We are also aware of individuals and organisations sharing this content and we ask that this does not occur. Please get in touch with us info@eatingdisorderstrainingaustralia.com.au if you are unsure about this.
We are thrilled if you love them and we encourage you to please ensure you direct anyone else you think may benefit to our website to purchase the workbook or workshop.
A referral is the biggest compliment you can give.
Not really. The workshop is an expansion of what was presented at the conference. The conference presentation was 90 minutes in total including introduction and questions. The current workshop is 3.5+ hours of videos plus involves a comprehensive workbook that was not given to conference participants.
Some handouts were given to participants at the ANZAED conference whereas participants of this workshop will be given a bonus comprehensive workbook with activities and information not included in the conference handout.
Please get in touch if you cannot find an answer to your question. These FAQs are all about our 3 day live introduction to eating disorders and CBT-E training.
Firstly, most trainings require you to complete an introductory course prior to a treatment training course. Usually the introductions incur a separate fee and are self lead. At Eating Disorders Training Australia, our training package is all inclusive, and the introduction is designed to specifically prepare you for the treatment package as they complement one another.
Secondly, we are teaching the models in the way clinicians use them in real world practice by integrating specific strategies that most clinicians use but we are not necessarily taught right from the get go. The idea is to get you up and running, feeling capable and effective as soon as possible.
Thirdly, we integrate how to work with loved ones and families which is best practice regardless of the age of the client and a necessity for younger clients.
Next, eligible clinicians can complete this training and apply to become an ANZAED Eating Disorder credentialed clinician in both the introduction to eating disorders and an evidenced based framework (see the ANZAED website for more). Typically clinicians need to complete separate trainings to be able to do this.
Finally, we are both active clinical psychologists who own our own businesses and are treating clients and their families routinely in private practice. We understand the complexities of working in this space, the ways to best produce outcomes, and we are experienced in helping others learn this too. We hope by completing our eating disorders training, we can help you avoid having to 'learn as you go' too much so you feel comfortable and the client receives great care!
Yes. We understand it is difficult to juggle multiple demands and if you must miss a small part of the training (e.g., for an unavoidable appointment) we can provide a small part of the training via a recording. We ask participants to get in touch with us in advance if required to miss a small part of the live training. Breakout activities are not part of the recording and we encourage participants to attend live as much as possible so they can benefit from the interactive side of the training. Recordings of large chunks of the training or parts across multiple days can not be provided so please be sure to schedule off the dates of the training if you would like to attend, as you would a live training.
At Eating Disorder Training Australia, the primary treatment approach taught is CBT-e, a fundamental treatment approach that is trans-diagnostic and useful regardless what model you go onto train up in and use in the future. We teach the model but also how to integrate elements of CCSW, DBT, motivational enhancement, ACT, and SSCM among others. You do not need to be familiar with these therapies to draw on the strategies taught.
We also encourage participants to take the training at your stage of learning and highlight the components best to focus on if you are new to CBT-e or eating disorders work.

Yes. To support you to continue to develop your skills and meet all requirements of the ANZAED eating disorder credential, we offer blocks of small group clinical supervision sessions (4 x 60 mins) with our trainers after each training. Sessions are separate from training and incur a fee. Please get in touch with use info@eatingdisorderstrainingaust.com.au if you are interested in group supervision.
Participants who complete our training are welcomed to join our closed peer support Facebook group to provide you with a space to ask questions, share resources, and be part of a community of clinicians who are all on a similar journey to you. We want you to feel supported so you feel confident working with your clients.
We also run a free online eating disorders book club, offered to clinicians who have completed our training. This is a way to continue learning, connect with others doing this work, and keep on top of changes in the eating disorders space.

Absolutely! Sometimes people assume group supervision is for psychologists but we welcome and frequently have a wide variety of disciplines in our small group supervision groups. The diversity of disciplines adds to the richness of learning.
